Mission and objective:
1. Reaching out to those in need of
answers, peace of mind and/or understanding towards
unexplainable, and sometimes, uncomfortable occurrences
in their residence that appears to them to be
supernatural or paranormal in basis.
2. Gathering "Second hand" knowledge
and experiences from those in the residence whom have
had presumable contact with paranormal activity, be it
visual, audio or other means. This will enable team
members to better plan out any "on sight" setup of
research equipment by lending validity to active
locations, type of occurrences and even times of events.
3. "Sweeping the site" for any
non-paranormal......or "normal" explanations as to the
reason for the experiences residents have noted to the
team. This is in no way meant to discredit a clients
belief that their residence is experiencing paranormal
activity, but rather to provide knowledge of any safety
issues that may be present in the home (i.e. toxic
fumes, chemicals, high electrical
output.....even uninvited guests in the home such as
raccoons in the attic).
4. Gathering "First Hand"
experience. This is the actual data gathering part of
the mission where the location team will gather as much
physical evidence as possible in the time allotted on
location. Most of the equipment will rely on audio and
video recording as well as a few other items for
assisting in pinpointing active locations or "hotspots"
5. Examining the data for any/all
evidence of paranormal activity. Valid recorded data
will be saved for records and training purposes.
6. Providing the client with any
evidence the team captures during investigation.
Moreover, the importance of educating that client in
what they may be experiencing and how to cope with and,
in most cases, live with these occurrences. If
necessary, the team will also refer any additional
consultation with any field professionals the client may
wish to seek at the clients request.
The Port Orange Paranormal Society is
made up of some great people who want to help people,
both here now and those who have past. To provide a
better understanding of the field and to bridge the gap
between what is believed to be true and what simply is
true about paranormal activity and, should it occur
along the way, make new friends on both sides.
